Lately, I’ve been hearing the argument from my Trump-supporting family and friends that they don’t agree with all of the President’s policy positions or his Twitter outbursts, but that they still feel he is an ideal option over Joe Biden.

Something about this deeply unsettled me, and – ever since – I’ve been mulling it over in my head. In normal times and under normal circumstances, supporting someone despite the fact that you don’t agree on every issue is understandable. However, there is no credible argument that one can make that would suggest we are currently or have been living in normal times and circumstances.

And as I try to continue to appeal to my friends and family who are still – somehow – supporting Trump, I think it may help to outline just how un-normal the times we are living in currently are.
